What To Wear: Music Midtown

Posted on 25 July 2015

If you're from the Atlanta area, or anywhere in the south, you've probably heard of Music Midtown. It is arguably the biggest music festival in Georgia and it has has been around since 1994. The festival took a little hiatus in 2006 but came back in full force in 2011. Well they just recently released the lineup for the 2015 show and while some people might not be pleased, I am pretty pumped. With headliners like Elton John, Van Halen, Hall and Oates, Billy Idol, Sam Smith and Drake, its hard for me not to be just a little giddy. (I am well aware of how skewed my taste in music is but I like it that way)

If you've read this blog before, you probably know how much I love music. I love concerts and festivals and I ESPECIALLY love getting ready for them and finding new and fun outfits to don at the shows. Music is an amazing form of expression and I firmly believe that fashion is as well. Your style is a way for you to express yourself in whatever way you want. You can create someone different every day depending on your mood and you can use clothes to say what you cant put into words and I think that is PRETTY cool.

SO, with that being said, I just wanted to put together a few outfit ideas and inspirations for Music Midtown coming up in September. Its never too early to start planning! And if you aren't planning on going to Midtown, you aren't from here, or you've already spent far too much money on another concert, you can still use these outfit ideas for whatever musical adventure you embark on this summer/this year.

Who doesn't love a good tie dye/fringe combo? This is the ultimate hippie chic look that is ideal for dancing and twirling and getting into the music. You'll definitely turn heads and not in the "is the okay" kinda way but in the "wow she looks so cute I want to be her" kinda way.

I personally love a romper because it is an entire outfit in one. So you look just as cute with half the effort. I'm all about something that is easy and as little effort as possible so rompers are right up my alley. I'm pretty sure I have said all of this before but I just needed to remind you all how GREAT ROMPERS ARE. Okay, I digress. So while they're simple and easy, it is always fun to dress them up a little and what better way to do that with a fringe vest and long statement necklace? This is a cute, low key outfit that will be cool and comfortable for all day shows and leading up into the nighttime acts.

If you're looking for a more flirty and bright outfit, you can't go wrong with an adorable pair of bright colored shorts and a patterned tank top. This option will not only keep you cool in the inevitably warm Georgia weather, but it is also a more "girly" and classic look. I love the combination of a bright neon short with the neutral navy blue floral top. There is just enough of the same color scheme in the shirt to really make the colors pop with the shorts. Paired with simple, dainty jewelry you have a look that is cute and classy and perfect for day or night.

The last outfit I threw together is a classic. The maxi dress is a staple that we all know and love. They are versatile, comfortable and flattering on virtually everyone. I loved this one because of its pattern and its subtle pop of color in the orange roses. This look is sure to keep you cool and stylish and it even has a little bit of that boho chic flare that so many people love. You can dress this look up or down and even put a sweater or fringed vest over it on the off chance that the weather cools off at night. Paired with a pair of brown gladiator sandals, this dress is a fun and easy option for any concert you plan to attend.

These are just a few of the adorable looks that we have at Love June right now, and we have many more to fit whatever your style is! You can find all of these styles on our website or you can come by our store in downtown Cartersville, Georgia under the bridge and one of our lovely sales associates will help you throw together a look for whatever you have planned!
